All fifty states require that children ride in car safety seats. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) urges all newborns discharged from hospitals to be brought home with their head facing forwards and arms extended out pressed against either side of them, ready to grab on if needed; this means being seated safely behind an airbag protected by hardwired springs or inflatable cushions designed specifically for each type/make model vehicle they hail from.
We all know that babies and children should always ride in car safety seats — preferably, the backseat. In addition to providing them with protection from falling down during accidents, it is just good etiquette for you as their parent or guardian not to put an infant’s head near any part of a front-facing seat where there could be airbags deployed by accident! As soon aged 12 years old they may hold onto something sturdy like another person while driving but no matter what never ever let them sit up alone until adulthood has arrived already.
It is important for older children to use a booster seat until the vehicle’s seat belt fits well. This means that they can sit all of their own back on an appropriately sized seat with knees bent at the edge, shoulder belt crossing over chest into an imaginary third point (think halfway), lap strip going low and snugly around thighs so as not to cause injury in case there was ever anything goes wrong during travel such crashed suddenly, etc.
This position helps avoid injuries caused by being positioned too close against metal parts when an accident happens.
